Though Banning and Beaumont's elected officials tend to be Republican, 40 percent of affiliated voters in the area are Democratic. Some Democrats, including President Obama and Gov.-elect Jerry Brown, have run fairly well here. The Democratic Club's monthly meeting is at in Banning and will feature a speaker.
