'Excessive Heat Warning' Issued For Pass Area
Another heat wave is forecast to bear down on the region, with temps expected in the high 90s for the Pass Area.
BANNING-BEAUMONT, CA — A high-pressure system moving over Southern California will bring hot temperatures to Banning and Beaumont starting this weekend, with the mercury approaching the 100-degree mark Monday through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
The Coachella Valley and San Gorgonio Pass Area will be under an "excessive heat warning" from 11 a.m. Sunday to 11 p.m. Tuesday due to dangerously hot conditions with temperatures expected to near 110 degrees in some desert areas.
During the warning period, daytime high temperatures are forecast to reach the upper 90s in the Pass Area, with overnight temps in the low 70s.

"High pressure will become the dominant driver of our weather over the region into early next week," according to the NWS.
An "excessive heat watch" has been issued in the valleys of San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
