Fire Damages Desert Hot Springs Home

The blaze was Sunday evening on Mesquite Avenue.

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA - A single-family home in Desert Hot Springs was damaged by fire, authorities said today.

Firefighters were called to the single-story home in the 13600 block of Mesquite Avenue at 9:28 p.m. Sunday, said Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department.

"The first arriving company reported heavy smoke and fire visible from an 1800 sq. ft. abandoned single story, single family dwelling,'' Hagemann said.

No injuries were reported, she said. Damage was estimated at $140,000.
