Fire Erupts Inside Holiday Inn Express In Riverside County
The two-alarm fire ignited early Friday at the populated hotel.

MORENO VALLEY, CA — Firefighters arrived at the scene where a 4-story hotel was showing a column of smoke, officials say.
Shortly after 1:15 a.m., Cal Fire/Riverside County Firefighters arrived at the hotel in the 12000 Block Day Street, less than a mile from the I-215, at the scene of the hotel fire.
"The first arriving unit reported smoke showing from a second-floor room," Cal Fire spokesperson Tawny Castro said. A 2nd alarm was requested during the incident. The cause and origin of the fire were not immediately released.

"The fire was contained to one room, and several other rooms were affected by smoke damage," Castro told Patch.
The fire was knocked down and no injuries were reported.

"A total of 16 adults have been displaced from their rooms, and units remained at the scene performing overhaul for approximately an hour after the incident was handled."
Patch has reached out to the hotel, which remains open Friday morning, according to an operator.
No other information about the cause of the blaze was immediately available.
