Firefighters Battle RivCo Blaze Spreading In Open Field: Cal Fire

PERRIS, CA — Firefighters were battling a brush fire that erupted in an open field in Perris on Thursday afternoon, charring 24 acres, officials said.

Multiple fire crews responded to the blaze and encountered flames burning at a moderate rate through medium vegetation.

Cal Fire aircraft were immediately requested, but as of 3:50 p.m., they had not initiated operations.

Firefighters were working to establish hose lays to cut off the head of the brusher.

No evacuation were issued, and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
