Firefighters Contain RivCo Brush Fires Near 60 Freeway: Cal Fire

The intersection of Reche Canyon Road and Reche Vista Drive was temporarily closed.

MORENO VALLEY, CA — Firefighters quickly put out multiple brush fires that broke out near Reche Canyon Road in Moreno Valley on Wednesday, officials said.

Several brush fires up to a quarter-acre in size were reported along the road just after 2 p.m., said Tawny Castro, a spokesperson for Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The fires were contained at 2:32 p.m. but the road was temporarily closed near Reche Canyon Road and Reche Vista Drive. Traffic along the 60 Freeway was not affected.

No injuries were reported, and no homes or structures were threatened.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
