Flock of Seagulls Still Performing in Beaumont Despite Recent Theft

The 1980s band A Flock of Seagulls will take the stage in Beaumont this week, along with another popular band of the era, Berlin.

The group– whose hits include I Ran (So Far Away), Space Age Love Song, and The More You Live, the More You Love– recently made headlines when they had a van filled with $70,000 worth of equipment stolen from a hotel parking lot in Downey on July 21.

The band's lead singer, Mike Score, told reporters after the theft that the band will be forced to use rented equipment.

Also playing Beaumont's Summer Concert Series on July 31 is the group Berlin.  One of their biggest hits includes Take My Breathe Away, from the movie Top Gun.

Flock of Seagulls is scheduled to take the stage first, at 7:30 p.m.  Berlin will go on at around 8:45 p.m., Patch is told.

Both shows are free to watch.  Attendees are encouraged to bring out blankets and chairs to enjoy the show at Beaumont's Stewart Park, located between Maple and Orange avenues, between 9th Street and 10th Street.
