Four Beaumont Schools Named Among 'Gold Ribbon' Recipients

"The principal and staff of these four schools have determination and skills that are reflected in each student."

The following was submitted for publication by the Beaumont Unified School District:

BEAUMONT, CA- The Beaumont Unified School District is proud to announce that four Beaumont elementary schools have been recognized as California Gold Ribbon Schools for 2016 by the California Department of Education. Anna M. Hause Elementary, Brookside Elementary, Sundance Elementary and Three Rings Ranch Elementary endured a rigorous review of data reports and site visits resulting in the highest state acknowledgement awarded to California schools.

“The award reflects your school’s success in creating a positive learning atmosphere for your students. Such success is a direct result of your dedicated, creative, and talented staff, and your supportive school community,” wrote the California Department of Education in its press release.

The announcement was made April 13 at 10 a.m. to the media and each site principal received their official notification via email from Tom Torlakson, State Superintendent of Public Instruction at 2 p.m.

"The principal and staff of these four schools have determination and skills that are reflected in each student. They have a tremendously high level of energy and their expectations from every individual on campus motivates everyone. When the goals are clear and the expectation is innovation and creativity, we see instructional strategies that result in learning,” said Dr. Maureen Latham, Superintendent of Beaumont Unified School District.

“We want to congratulate all of the schools in Riverside and San Bernardino counties, who received this award. Trust me, this is no easy accomplishment and any school on this list has committed itself to implementing an innovative model program that benefits students,” said Latham.

The Principals receiving notification, include:

  • Charlene Earl, Anna M. Hause Elementary
  • Dr. Christina Boursaw, Brookside Elementary
  • Lauren Kinney, Sundance Elementary
  • Sean Dickinson, Three Rings Ranch Elementary

The notification to principals read in part: “You are cordially invited to attend a California School Recognition Program Awards Ceremony on 5/10/2016 sponsored in part by California Casualty. This year we will honor the 2016 Gold Ribbon Elementary Schools along with the Exemplary Program recipients, Title I Academic Achieving Schools, 2016 Green Ribbon Schools, 2016 Civic Learning Award Schools, and the National Blue Ribbon Honorees from 2015.”
