HS Football Teams Look to Bounce Back from Disappointing Seasons
Banning opens up at home while Beaumont travels to Valley View.

After both finishing last season with two wins, the Beaumont Cougars and Banning Broncos are looking to get off on the right foot in 2012.
Banning faces Hemet (3-7) at home Friday night while Beaumont travels to Valley View (7-4).
Beaumont lost 17-16 in last years season-opener against Valley View, while Banning and Hemet didn't square off in 2011.
This will mark John Stockham's return to the helm as the Bronco's head coach. According to The Press-Enterprise, he "has his share of talented players, led by RB/CB Alvin Harper, along with RB/CB Michael Coglietti and RB/DB Styrone Hairston and a handful of transfers." The Broncos closed out last season with a strong 50-28 win over Jurupa Hills.
The Press-Enterprise reports that Cougars coach Paul Lopez will lean on returning quarterback Josh Martin and newcomers Cesar Silva and Joe Jeffers, who will join Martin in the backfield.
Max Preps' Freeman Rankings have Beaumont ranked 16th in the Southern Division Eastern (VIII) rankings and Banning 17th in the Southern Division East Valley (XII) rankings.
