HomeAid Inland Empire’s 12th Annual Target Homelessness Trap Shoot Event; Will Raise Funds To Build Housing in the IE
The 12th Annual HomeAid Inland Empire Trap Shoot & Builder Chili Cook-Off fundraiser event will be held May 5th in Redlands.

RIVERSIDE, CA (April 5, 2017) --- The 12th Annual HomeAid Inland Empire (HAIE) Target Homelessness Trap Shoot & Builder Chili Cook-Off fundraiser event will be held again this year at Redlands Shooting Park on Friday, May 5.
Riverside County Sheriff Stan Sniff will be the Honorary Chairman for the event, and HAIE Executive Committee and Board vice president Andy Mulz of Red Robin restaurants will be the Trap Shoot chairman.
HomeAid Inland Empire is the non-profit charity of the Southern California Building Industry Association (BIA) Riverside County and Baldy View Chapters. HAIE works with various homeless service provider partners to renovate or build quality housing developments to provide a safe place to stay for individuals and families throughout Riverside and San Bernardino counties while they work to rebuild their lives and regain self-sufficiency.

“Our annual Trap Shoot fundraiser event has always been a great opportunity for our outstanding building industry and corporate partners to make a significant financial contribution to help HomeAid address the problem of homelessness in the Inland Empire,” said Ray Osborne, HAIE Executive Director. “We hope this year’s event will be our most successful to date, and provide us with the vital funding needed for our on-going housing development program to create safe and comfortable apartments and homes for more than 3,000 men, women and children who are homeless every day in Riverside and San Bernardino counties according to the 2017 Point-In-Time (PIT) homeless count in the two-county area,” he added.
“HomeAid Inland Empire has done outstanding work on our behalf for over 27 years to help deal with the serious issue of homelessness in our community, and we are proud to support their efforts,” commented Riverside County Building Industry Association (BIA) CEO Bill Blankenship in announcing that the chapter will again be the host sponsor for this year’s Trap Shoot fundraiser event. “HomeAid is one way that the Inland Empire building industry is able to give back to the community we serve, and we will continue to be a strong supporter, because the need to help provide housing for the homeless is still critical.”

All Southern California Escrow Inc., Boudreau Pipeline, CalAtlantic Homes, Complete Builder Service Inc., Lennar Homes, Loan Depot/iMortgage, OC Hills Company, and TRI Pointe Homes are the event sponsors this year. Masonry Innovations Inc. and Freedom Mortgage are the photo sponsors, and the Riverside County Economic Development Agency (EDA) will be the event food sponsor again. Additional key sponsors are still being sought.
Fidelity National Title Group, Innovative Structural Engineering, Inside Plants, Michael Baker International, and Richmond American Homes are among the companies that have also already made sponsorship commitments.
“With the continuing support of the Inland Empire home building industry and other corporate partners this important fundraising event is a key financial driver contributing to the work HomeAid does to develop homeless housing in the two-county area,” commented Trap Shoot chairman and HAIE Board vice president Andy Mulz. “Since 1990, HomeAid Inland Empire has created 40 housing developments that have served over 30,000 homeless people in the Inland Empire, and this year we are aiming to hit our highest Target Homelessness goal yet by working to get over 200 trap shooters and other attendees to join us for a day of fun to support a very good cause,” he added.
In addition to the limited number of sponsorships that are still available, there are registration opportunities for fivesome trapshooting teams at $895 and individual trapshooters at $190, as well as spectator sign ups at $50. The deadline for online registration is Tuesday, May 2, at the HAIE website, www.homeaidie.org, or by contacting Julie Reay, the HAIE Events Manager, at julie@homeaidie.org.
Adding to the fun and festivities at the Trap Shoot event will be the Builder Chili Cook-Off competition and new Salsa Showdown, involving several of the top homebuilders and supporting companies in the Inland Empire. Masonry Innovations, the defending chili cook-off champion, and Lennar Homes, another past chili champion, will be in this year’s competition as well as CalAtlantic Homes.
Many of HomeAid Inland Empire’s service provider partners, including Olive Crest, Operation SafeHouse, Path of Life Ministries, Project T.O.U.C.H., Lutheran Social Services (LSS), Foothill Family Shelter, Mary’s Mercy Center, Operation Grace, and the Family Assistance Program are invited to have information tables at the Trap Shoot to give attendees an opportunity to learn more about what is being done to end homelessness in the local area.
