Masked gunmen, heavily armed and possibly cloaked in body armor, opened fire Wednesday at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, killing 14 people and wounding 14 more, authorities said.

LifeStream blood bank, a blood bank located near the shooting has been forced to close its San Bernardino doors in the wake of the violence, but donors can give blood in surrounding communities.
“Due to the devastating events of Wednesday morning in San Bernardino, LifeStream blood bank, headquartered in San Bernardino, is urging local residents to give blood in order to assist the wounded being treated at local hospitals,” the company wrote in an appeal for donors. “LifeStream provides blood products and services to Loma Linda University Medical Center and Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where emergency teams are assisting the wounded.”

In the Inland Empire, donations can be made at LifeStream centers in Riverside, Ontario, Victorville and La Quinta, and at LifeStream mobile drives. For hours and locations, please call 800-879-4484 or visit LStream.org.
Donors can also give blood at Hoag Hospital, Long Beach Memorial, and Saddleback Memorial, at the American Red Cross in Woodland Hills, the American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles, and the San Diego Blood Bank.
