IE Man Sought Explicit Images From Teen Girl In MN, More Victims Possible: Cops

According to detectives, the suspect pretended to be 17 years old when he contacted the victim on an online chat platform.

HESPERIA, CA — A 29-year-old Hesperia man was arrested Thursday after investigators say he posed as a teenager online to solicit explicit images from a 15-year-old girl in Minnesota, and there may be more victims.

Cameron David Nelson was taken into custody at his home in the 16000 block of Adelia Street following a multi-month investigation by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department's Crimes Against Children Detail.

Authorities initiated the investigation on July 13 after receiving a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding the possession of child sexual abuse material.

According to detectives, Nelson contacted the victim on an online chat platform, claiming to be 17 years old, and subsequently received explicit photos from her.

Nelson was booked into the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto on suspicion of contacting a minor to commit a sexual offense and possession of child pornography. He was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail and has since been released from custody.

Believing there may be additional victims, detectives released Nelson’s photograph and are asking anyone with relevant information to come forward.
