IE School Proctor Targeted Children On Social Media, More Victims Sought: SBCSD

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — San Bernardino County sheriff's investigators are now seeking potential additional victims after a former school proctor was arrested last month for possessing child sexual abuse material and allegedly using social media to target minors.

Dylan Patrick Beckham, 22, of Victorville, who previously worked as a proctor at Village STEAM School, 14711 Mojave Drive, Victorville, remains held without bail at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto following his June 23 arrest in his home city.

According to an update last week from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, investigators discovered that Beckham allegedly used the online usernames “lucidblue17” and “voidhubb” across social media platforms to contact minors and obtain child sexual abuse material.

The investigation began May 26 after the sheriff's department received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding the upload of child sexual abuse material.

Detectives subsequently identified Beckham as the suspect. During the initial probe, investigators also allegedly uncovered evidence that Beckham had recorded lewd images of himself while on the Village STEAM School property.

Staff members from the Victor Elementary School District cooperated fully with law enforcement, the sheriff's department said. Investigators noted that they do not believe any students from the district's Village STEAM School were victimized.

Beckham was initially booked on charges of possessing child pornography and committing lewd acts in a public place, with bail originally set at $250,000. Following additional findings, he faces updated charges including possession of more than 600 images of child sexual abuse material and is currently being held without bail.
