BANNING, CA — Internet sellers and home-based business owners in the Pass Area can learn about tax rules affecting online sales during a workshop set for Thursday in Banning.
This “Banning Internet and Home-Based Business Workshop” will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Banning Chamber of Commerce, 60 E. Ramsey St., Suite C.
The event is presented by the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration in partnership with the Banning Chamber of Commerce, according to organizers. It is open to chamber members and the public.

According to the event flyer, many internet and home-based business owners are surprised to learn that there is no blanket exemption for online sellers. The workshop will cover how recent marketplace facilitator rules and the Wayfair decision affect online sales.
