'John Doe' Died At IE Hospital, Public's Help Sought To ID Him

He died of natural causes, according to the sheriff's department.

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA — A man who reportedly lived on the streets has died at a local hospital, but no one knows who he is, so the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help to identify him.

The victim was found unresponsive on March 26 near a residence on Mountain View Road in San Bernardino. He was taken to St. Bernardine Medical Center and died of natural causes there four days later, according to the sheriff’s department.

The person who found the victim told sheriff’s deputies that they had occasional conversations with the victim. The victim, who spoke fluent Spanish, was homeless and believed to be from Michoacán, Mexico, the reporting party told the sheriff’s department.

The law enforcement agency said the victim was 34-35 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighed 183 pounds. He had brown eyes, black hair, and a goatee. His hair and goatee were recently trimmed. He had no tattoos.

The sheriff’s department has listed him as John Doe #47-26. Anyone with information about the decedent is asked to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Division at 909-387-2978; reference case #702602297.
