Civil Air Patrol provides volunteer opportunities for teens and adults

Are you a teen or adult interested in flying or just simply learning about aviation? The Civil Air Patrol has volunteer opportunities that will have you soaring!

Visit Beaumont Library on Saturday, November 12, at 3 p.m. to hear Lieutenant Carolyn Usher talk about “Citizens Serving Communities” and ways that you can become involved with the Civil Air Patrol. Lt. Usher is CAP Assistant Aerospace Education Officer and Squadron Historian for the Riverside Senior Squadron 5.

The Civil Air Patrol is the official civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force, a volunteer organization with members of all ages who come from all walks of life. Chartered by Congress, CAP missions include: 1) the performance of emergency services, including search and rescue, as well as disaster relief; 2) aerospace education for youth and the general public; 3) cadet programs for teens; and 4) assisting with Homeland Security and courier work.
