A Banning-Beaumont Patch reader says he's concerned with some items on the agenda for this week's Banning Unified School District board of supervisors meeting.

Superintendent Robert T. Guillen is attempting to get The Board of Trustees to approve "Waivers" for Teachers who do not have Appropriate Teaching Credentials & have not passed CBEST exam.
This will have lifelong consequences for the students of Banning and Pass area.
Accreditation and future College entrance for our Banning High School Graduates may be in jeopardy.

Please attend Board Meeting fill out comment card and tell Board NOT to approve Guillen's request for Waivers!
Guillen has already watered down the requirements for a BA Degree for Director of Fiscal Services so, he could hire an UNQUALIFIED supporter who does not even hold an "AA" degree.

10.8. Approval to Request Waiver for CBEST Waiver for Physical Education Teacher (Guillen)

Quick Summary / Abstract:
The District is in need of a physical education teacher for Banning High School. The candidate that best fits our needs is in the early stages of the credentialing process. The CBEST waiver will allow the candidate to gain valuable classroom experience while simultaneously completing the appropriate coursework.
Recommended Motion:
Robert T. Guillen, Superintendent, recommends that the Board approve the waiver application.
10.9. Approval to Request Waiver for Mental Health Therapist (Guillen)

Quick Summary / Abstract:
The District is in need of a mental health therapist. The candidate that was selected is in the process of obtaining the appropriate California credential. The waiver will allow her to work while completing the necessary coursework.

Robert T. Guillen, Superintendent, recommends that the Board approve the waiver application.
