Lucky Lotto Store: $36 Million Ticket Sold in Beaumont is Third Big Win Since April
Ziggy's Spirit Shoppe on 6th Street in Beaumont just helped make a local resident $36 million.

The winner of a $36 million California lotteryĀ jackpot is a likely a local man, who visits the store where it was purchased on a regular basis, Patch has learned.
"I'm assuming he's from around here, he comes in regularly," said Pooja Patel, who owns the local business where the ticket was purchasedĀ with her husband and father-in-law.
According to Patel, this winner-- who hasn't come forward publicly just yet-- makes for the third big prize awarded via Ziggy's Spirit Shoppe since April. Ā On April 29, a $6.5 million scratcher was sold, and on May 28, a mega millions ticket worth $139,713 came from the shop.
āItās pretty amazing," she told Patch of the winning streak. Ā āWe've hit a little bit here and there, but this is the first one we've hit, hit.ā
Not only will the jackpot winner get some money-- but the store getsĀ a bonus of one half percent of the $36 million, or an estimated $180,000, according to California Lottery officials.
If the winner decides to take a cash payout on the ticket, he'll get $21 million total, according to the lottery.
Patel says Ziggy's has been in the family for the last 22 years.
