Magnitude 4.1 Quake Strikes Inland Empire

The shaking was felt as far south as Murrieta and all the way to the beach.

BANNING, CA —A 4.1-magnitude earthquake rattled the Inland Empire Friday afternoon.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake struck in San Bernardino County about 35 miles east of Barstow at 3:13 p.m. Friday.

The quake struck just before t 3:15 p.m., 35 miles east of Barstow, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Residents reported shaking as far away as Torrance, Seal Beach, Murrieta and across a wide swath of the Barstow area.

There were no immediate reports of damage.

The USGS did not record any foreshocks or aftershocks of magnitude 2.5 or larger.
