Man Arrested After IE Hit-And-Run Crash That Killed 2 Teen Girls

VICTORVILLE, CA — A 50-year-old man who authorities had been searching for after a hit-and-run crash earlier this month in Victorville that left two girls dead has been arrested.

Terry Lamar Easter, of Apple Valley, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of murder and vehicular manslaughter.

Easter turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday. Jail records indicate he was arrested at the Victorville Police Department. He is being held on $1 million bail.

On Tuesday, the California Highway Patrol said there was a $1,000,000 arrest warrant issued for Easter.

Investigators were searching for Easter since he allegedly fled the scene of a crash on Aug. 14 that killed Maddalyn Dailey, 17, and Isabelle Hill, 16, who were described as best friends.

The crash occurred just after 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of Ridgecrest Road and Elmwood Drive, Officer Jebediah Wheeler of the CHP Victorville station told Patch.

A yellow Chevrolet Camaro convertible and a black Dodge Charger were both speeding north on Ridgecrest Road, as the car driven by Maddalyn turned from Elmwood Drive, according to a CHP report.

Both the Camaro and Dodge struck Maddalyn's Acura, splitting the Acura in half. The driver of the Dodge, whose name was not released, was arrested and charged with vehicular manslaughter. The driver has since posted bond.

The Camaro driver fled the scene, according to Wheeler.

CHP said a child was left at the crash site and was later reunited with a parent.

The crash remains under investigation.
