Man Killed By Train In Banning Identified

BANNING, CA — The Riverside County coroner's office Sunday identified the 58-year-old man who was struck and killed by a train in Banning.

Juan Carlos Montano was struck by the train at midnight Saturday near Highland Springs, south of Interstate 10.

The Beaumont resident was pronounced dead at the scene about half an hour later, the coroner's office reported.

The Banning Police Department said no passengers on the train were injured and an investigation into the death was ongoing.
