Motorcycle Crash On SR-79 Stalls Commuter Traffic Near Beaumont: CHP

At least one person required medical attention in a crash on State Route 79 just south of California Avenue.

BEAUMONT, CA —A motorcycle and vehicle collided Wednesday morning, temporarily stalling morning commuter traffic, according to California Highway Patrol.

Shortly before 6 a.m., a 2011 Roadster and a Toyota Rav4 collided while traversing the north side of Beaumont Avenue just south of California Avenue, according to CHP Officer Jonathan Torres.

The rider, a 64-year-old Hemet man, suffered minor injuries. Debris from that crash was scattered across the traffic lanes.

Both Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department and tow trucks were called to the scene, however the tow truck was later canceled. The motorcyclist suffered minor injuries to their shoulder and was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Neither alcohol nor drugs were considered a factor in this crash, according to Torres. Traffic resumed through the area by 9:30 a.m.
