New 12-Screen Movie Theater In Beaumont: Construction Greenlight

The Cinema West theater at "San Gorgonio Village" on Second Street is slated to open later this year.

BEAUMONT, CA — Movie-goers have something to celebrate: Construction permits have been issued to Cinema West for a new 12-screen theater next to the Kohl's store in Beaumont, it was announced Monday.

The theater at "San Gorgonio Village" on Second Street is slated to open later this year.

The "luxury theater" is slated to join Beaumont's first In-N-Out Burger at the location. Plans were approved for the popular eatery late last year and officials estimate the fast-food restaurant will open this spring.

Along with In-N-Out and Cinema West, other tenants at San Gorgonio Village will include a Grocery Outlet, Five Below discount retailer, an Ulta Beauty store, and a Planet Fitness gym. All are expected to open by year's end, according to Kyle Warsinski, Beaumont's economic development manager.

The Beaumont city council and planning commission gave the green light years ago to the San Gorgonio Village development. Progress at the site slowed due to the recession but with an improved economy, construction, led by Laguna Beach-based developers Wood Investments Companies, is resuming, with several businesses planned for development around the existing Kohl's store.
