THE REMAKING OF COUNCILMAN CASTALDO
First and foremost, lest anyone jump to conclusions, I would like to start off by offering my sincere condolences to Mr Castaldo and his family for the loss of his Mother.
Things sure have changed Mr Castaldo. Would you agree? I dont expect an answer. You used to be open to conversation with your constituents and engage them (us) in an open and hopefully honest dialogue.
I wanted to reference your last Public comments here on the Patch approx 11 months ago, however they are no longer available. It may be just a coincidence that all your derogatory comments and assumptions directed at people with opposing views have been deleted, but I doubt it.
Let me refresh your memory in case it has been deleted as well. Your last public blog you took potshots at damn near everyone with an opposing view. Since I do not and will not speak for others, I will revisit your comments to me.
Please keep in mind that we had and have never met. I had never mentioned you or your family or business or transactions in any sort of derogatory manner.
In any of my postings that reference specific concerns, there are always footnotes with links to source documents. These documents are not generated by me and are mostly from the City, County, and State sources.
Your specific comments to me entailed implying that whatever I was "mixing" into my liquid intake left me incapable of thinking in a rational manner. I immediately responded to your "Mr Toad's Wild Ride" allegations with a rebuttal questioning your motives and blanket disdain for many.
Unfortunately, this patently absurd, posting lacked in material facts and served only to expose your ignorance in the open exchange of differing viewpoints. You remind me of the school child that threw the rock through a window, then immediately activated the nearest fire alarm to cover your ass. Your "on the way out the door" commentantary without reply to numerous rebuttals only served to alienate citizens further.
Lets fast forward to recent Council meetings. What have we seen and heard?

OK I get that. I would hope so. Tell us the truth though, WHO was it that "insisted" that you and Mayor Berg cease and desist from engaging, posting, or responding to any questions in forums such as The Patch?
In Q & A sessions of the 2010-11 and 2011-12 Audits review you posed a whole series of " In your opinion..." and " Would you say" lines of inquiry fishing for answers with leading questions that had nothing to do with the content of said Audit. If you hoped to mislead by distortion or baffle with brilliance, you failed on both counts.
To be the Man, you have to be a man. YOU chose to be a public figure with the rights and responsibilities that accompany such a position. If you missed the Orientation Session, along with those rights and responsibilities as a public figure is the fact that there are, and will, and SHOULD be people that are active and vocal in their dissent.
Just as you have done in The Patch with your ill conceived ramblings, you have disgraced yourself, and now return to your tried and true tested ways of opening your mouth and placing your foot in it. Previously you "got the last word in" at the Patch and the dialogue disappeared. Now on a grand scale you have a microphone and a nameplate and an unhealthy desire to validate yourself and demonize PRIVATE citizens by condoning questionable Staff actions and policies that deprive citizens of their rights to documents and answers. I am about a million dollars short of being a millionaire, but even I could produce $1000 for a showboating circus.
But I wouldn't...because MY parents taught me better.
