Two Confirmed Killed in Crash Outside Lamb Canyon: UPDATED

SAN JACINTO, CA – Two people were killed in a crash along State Route 79 in the San Jacinto area, just outside of Lamb Canyon, the California Highway Patrol and Riverside County Fire Department report.

The incident was reported at 2:13 p.m. on the southbound side of the highway, near Gilman Springs Road.

Details on the crash are still limited, but it appears two vehicles were involved. Cal Fire was called to the scene to extricate a person, CHP reports indicated.

The Riverside County coroner's office was called to the scene at 2:36 p.m. and the Riverside County Fire Department first confirmed just one fatality. However, crews later reported that an additional person died in the crash.

"Two confirmed fatalities and one patient with serious injuries will be transported by ground ambulance," the fire department reported.

The CHP is investigating the crash.
