Partial Closure Of Beaumont's 60 Freeway Planned For Repairs

The westbound Moreno Valley 60 Freeway in Beaumont was scheduled to close Saturday as crews worked to repair an overpass damaged by a wreck.

BEAUMONT, CA — The westbound Moreno Valley 60 Freeway in Beaumont was scheduled to close Saturday as crews worked to repair an overpass that was damaged in a crash, Caltrans officials said.

All westbound lanes were expected to be closed at the Interstate 10 connector to the 60 at 6 a.m. Saturday. The freeway would reopen around 4 p.m, according to Caltrans.

The Sixth Street on-ramp to westbound I-10 will also be shut down as part of the work, officials said.

The railing and other stretches of the overpass were damaged in a multi-vehicle accident during Monday's rainstorm.

Motorists were advised to plan for delays. Caltrans recommended that drivers plan on using westbound I-10 through Beaumont, bypassing the 10/60 interchange and continuing into San Bernardino County, then detouring south via I-215 or other routes.
