Pedestrian Struck On 60 Freeway

JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A Monday morning crash on state Route 60 in Jurupa Valley left three people injured, including a pedestrian.

The three-vehicle wreck on the westbound side of the freeway near Country Village Road was reported at 6:13 a.m., according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

At the scene, fire crews found two people with moderate to serious injuries. Both were sent to a local hospital by ground ambulance. A third person suffered minor injuries and was evaluated but declined further care, according to the fire department.

It's unclear why the pedestrian was on the freeway.

The California Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident.

As of 9:15 a.m., traffic through the area was clear.
