Missing Banning Teen Located After Extensive Search

BANNING, CA — A 16-year-old girl reported missing late Saturday night has been located, and is back with her family, officials say.

Officers with the Banning Police Department were dispatched at about 11:50 p.m. Saturday to the Peppertree Apartments in the 400 block of East Nicolet Street after family members reported the missing person.

Family told officers that the girl left the apartment on foot and left her communication devices behind.

Detectives have been interviewing family members and friends in an effort to locate Ruiz and have followed up on tips that she may have been seen in different areas of Banning and Beaumont.

Police said additional information that could help safely reunite Ruiz with her family would be shared as it became available.
