Private School Teacher Jailed for Alleged Sex With Minor

Palm Springs resident Jesse Adam Goff is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl at a location in Palm Desert.

A 33-year-old teacher at a private school in Palm Springs was behind bars Wednesday on suspicion of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl he met on the Internet.

Palm Springs resident Jesse Adam Goff, who teaches at Mojave River Academy, was arrested about 6 p.m. Tuesday in the 73000 block of Magnesia Falls in Palm Desert, sheriff’s Sgt. Tom Brewster said.

On Feb. 3, sheriff’s investigators began investigating allegations that a man was having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl at a location in Palm Desert, Brewster said.

Administrators at the private school cooperated with the investigation, according to sheriff’s officials, who said the alleged victim is not a student at the school.

Goff was being held at the Riverside County jail in Indio in lieu of $50,000 bail on suspicion of oral copulation with a person under 18, sodomy with a person under 18, lewd and lascivious acts with a child and sexual penetration involving a child under 18.
