Rape, Child Molestation Investigation Leads To Arrest: Banning PD

BANNING, CA —A rape and child molestation investigation by the Banning Police Department led to the arrest this week of man in Perris.
Hugo Ponce Santillan, 36, was taken into custody by Banning police around 3:40 p.m. on Cajalco Road in Perris, jail records show.
He was booked into Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on suspicion of rape, lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14, and oral copulation with a child under 10, according to the jail records.

He is being held in lieu of a $1 million bond and is due to appear in court Monday.
Banning police did not release details of their investigation.
