BREAKING: Police say it is not an active shooter investigation.
MORENO VALLEY, CA — Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of possible shots fired at the Moreno Valley Mall on Thursday, officials say. And though witnesses reported hearing the sounds of shots inside the mall, it appears as no one was hit.
“#MoValPD investigating report of possible gunshots heard at Moreno Valley Mall. Police on scene. Not active shooter situation. More details to follow,” the sheriffs department said on Twitter.
Witnesses at the scene told Patch they started running as the commotion broke out. The Mall was quickly placed on lockdown with armed police officers stationed at each exit.
