RivCo Man Arrested For Driving Motorcycle Into Crowd, 2 Injured: Sheriff

RIVERSIDE, CA — Deputies arrested a 40-year-old man suspected of driving a motorcycle into a crowd and injuring two people on Wednesday near Riverside, authorities said.

Deputies responded around 10:25 a.m. to the 20000 block of Krameria Avenue, an unincorporated area bordering Riverside, after receiving reports of an altercation. A caller reported to authorities that a motorcyclist drove into a crowd, initially injuring two people, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office.

Upon arrival, deputies found three people injured who were transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

During their investigation, deputies learned the motorcycle rider, later identified as Jesus Salcido Perez, of Perris, intentionally accelerated into the crowd of people, striking two of them, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Perez was later released from the hospital and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon, authorities said.

Authorities said an ongoing investigation.
