RivCo Woman Killed In Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash

OCEANSIDE, CA — Police are searching for witnesses and at least two vehicles believed to have struck a Riverside County woman in a fatal hit-and-run Sunday night in Oceanside.

Naidy Cruz, 31, of Hemet was hit around 9:44 p.m. while she was in the eastbound lanes of state Route 76, just east of Guajome Lake Road, according to the Oceanside Police Department. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The investigation is ongoing, and investigators are seeking witnesses who may have observed the collision," Oceanside Police spokesperson Gina Avalos said. "We are also attempting to identify at least two vehicles believed to have struck the victim."

The department's Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the collision. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information is asked to contact Traffic Investigator Kevin Lissner at 760-435-4651.
