Near-Drowning Of Toddler Reported In Condo Pool

The boy was pulled from the pool at a complex on Highway 74 in Palm Desert.

 PALM DESERT, CA --- A toddler nearly drowned in a Palm Desert pool Tuesday.   

Firefighters responded about 6:10 p.m. to a pool at a condominium,complex in the 46000 block of Highway 74, according to April Newman of the Riverside County Fire Department.   

The boy had been removed from the pool by the time firefighters arrived, she said.

He was rushed to a hospital and was conscious, alert and breathing on his own when committed to the care of hospital staff, Newman said.
