Police are asking your help finding the people behind this grand theft.

BEAUMONT, CA — Beaumont police are asking for the public's help tracking down a duo that scammed an elderly woman out of money. The incident happened last month and is tied to both Hemet and Beaumont, according to police.

Police said that the woman was contacted in Hemet on Feb. 13 by a man and woman who told her that they'd won the lottery and needed to use her ID to claim the winnings.

"The subjects proceeded to convince the victim to drive with them to [a Hemet] bank, where they had the victim withdraw a large sum of cash," police said in a news release. "The subjects then drove the victim to a second bank in the City of Beaumont and had the victim make a second, larger, withdrawal of an undisclosed amount of cash."

Suspecting something was off after the second withdrawal, the woman told employees at the Wells Fargo on 2nd Street in Beaumont what happened, according to police who responded to investigate.

Police are still working to track down the two people who took the woman's money. On Thursday, they released the above video footage of them, in the hopes that someone may recognize the pair.
