Just after 8 a.m., a loose tire crossed from the southbound side of the 215 to the northbound side of the freeway coming to rest in the middle lanes. A white Ford crossover vehicle and silver Toyota Tacoma collided while avoiding the tire, according to the CHP.

Reports from the scene indicate the tire came from a green Chevrolet Suburban that was heading southbound on the 215 just north of West Blaine Street. That car came to rest in the center divider.
