Student Remains In Critical Condition After Assault At School
Two 13-year-olds were arrested in connection with the incident in Moreno Valley, officials said.
MORENO VALLEY, CA — A boy seriously injured in a Monday assault at Landmark Middle School in Moreno Valley remains hospitalized in critical condition, and two juveniles were arrested in the case, according to authorities.
The fight broke out about 1 p.m. on the school campus, at 15261 Legendary Drive, said Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. William Stens. The victim was taken to Riverside University Medical Center for treatment of "significant injuries," Stens said, but he did not specify what the altercation was about or whether the child was struck with an object.
After an investigation, two 13-year-old males were arrested and booked into Riverside County Juvenile Hallon suspicion of assault likely to produce great bodily injury, officials said.
