Teen Boy Found Safe After Disappearance From Christian Camp In San Bernardino Mountains

GREEN VALLEY LAKE, CA — Authorities confirmed Monday that a 14-year-old boy who was believed to have walked away last week from a Christian camp high in the San Bernardino Mountains has been found safe.

Logan Starkweather was last seen at about 3 p.m. July 2 at Hume SoCal located at 32355 Green Valley Lake Road in Green Valley Lake, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. The area is about 12 miles southeast of Lake Arrowhead at an elevation of 6,700 feet.

Video footage reviewed by deputies showed the teen wearing black-framed glasses, a black shirt, white and orange swim shorts, and black Crocs shoes. It was the last sighting of the boy.

According to the Hume SoCal website, the facility is a Christian camp that serves youth and adults.

"We partner with churches, schools, teams, and groups to create distraction-free environments where they encounter Jesus Christ and experience the Gospel At Play," according to the site.

It's not clear where Logan was found or what program he was enrolled in when he disappeared.

He did not have a cellphone with him, according to the sheriff's department.
