Tesla Motors Installing Superchargers Near New In-N-Out: Beaumont

The bank of superchargers and the iconic fast-food store are expected to open soon in Beaumont.

BEAUMONT, CA — Need a spot to charge up your Tesla in Beaumont? You will soon have that opportunity, and you can grab a Double-Double while you wait.

Tesla Motors is installing a bank of superchargers near the new In-Out-Burger that's expected to open soon at 1551 E. 2nd St.

The Telsa superchargers (which can deliver up to half a charge in about 20 minutes) in Beaumont include multiple stations, but they're not yet included on company’s interactive online map and it's not yet known when Tesla will flip the switch at the new site.

The city confirmed the new superchargers, but Tesla has not immediately responded to a request for comment.

In-N-Burger said Tuesday it hasn't set an opening date for the Beaumont store, but it's expected soon and applications are now being accepted for the location.

When Tesla superchargers and In-N-Out do go live, they will both mark firsts in the San Gorgonio Pass Area: the nearest Tesla superchargers are located at Desert Hills Premium Outlets in Cabazon or Moreno Valley, and the closest In-N-Out is in Cabazon (near the outlets) or Yucaipa.

An online thread at Tesla Motor Club showed interest in the new Beaumont superchargers.

"Nice find!!" one poster wrote. "Now when I visit my mother I won't have to go to Cabazon/Desert Hills — plus I like In and Out better than McDonalds!"

As for In-N-Out, when the city of Beaumont posted news in November that store plans were approved for the site, the city's Facebook post lit up with more than 400 likes and over 100 loves.

Many on the city thread posted traffic concerns, but one had this to say: "don’t complain. I want my In N Out "
