TRAFFIC ALERT: U-Haul Fire on the 60 Prompts Partial Freeway Closure

MORENO VALLEY, CA – A U-Haul truck caught fire Thursday afternoon on the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway, prompting the California Highway Patrol to shut down several traffic lanes while fire crews extinguished the flames.

The blaze was reported just before 3 p.m. on the westbound 60, near Perris Boulevard, according to the CHP.

Riverside County firefighters had the flames knocked down by 3:15 p.m.

The CHP shut down two of three lanes on the westbound 60, and the closure was expected to remain in effect until about 4 p.m.
