Travel Training to Union Station with Pass Transit

Beaumont Pass Transit offers a travel training program for public transit passengers to learn how to travel from the San Gorgonio Pass Area to Los Angeles Union Station. The motivation is to educate and explore local and regional connection opportunities. On July 13, 2017 fourteen passengers, and August 10, 2017 seventeen passengers, traveled on public transportation to Los Angeles.

The groups met at Beaumont Walmart and boarded Pass Transit's Commuter Link 120 which connects the Pass Area to San Bernardino Metrolink. Passengers then boarded the Metrolink train headed to LA Union Station. Once there, passengers were offered a walking tour of LA Union Station and were accompanied to the subway platforms of the Purple and Red Metro Rail Line. Additional places of interest included the Patsaouras Transit Plaza where additional connections including MegaBus and LAX Flyaway are located, as well as the Gold Line, and the significance of 7th & Metro Center Station for further connection opportunities.

Reservations for upcoming travel training trips are fielded by Pass Transit Staff. The common factor with most who have called is the desire for travel via public transportation into Los Angeles and beyond; however, it is often the case that those same people who have the desire, do not know how to go about planning and accomplishing the trip. It is the goal of Pass Transit to educate passengers on the ability to travel without a car.

Public transportation is a valuable resource that can be intimidating to those who have not used it before. In an effort to familiarize public transportation options, Beaumont Pass Transit Staff accompanies and guides passengers through uncertainties and insecurities. Staff is available throughout the trip to answer questions.
