Truck Spills Load Of Pot On I-10 In Banning, Driver Flees On Foot
CHP reports indicate "large barrels of marijuana" spilled onto the freeway.

BANNING, CA ā A man took off running from the scene of a crash on Interstate 10 in the Banning area on Thursday afternoon, after his haul of marijuana spilled across the roadway, the CHP reports.
The incident happened around noon on the eastbound side of the freeway, just west of the Banning truck scales, according to CHP Officer Darren Meyer. Meyer tells Patch that the driver of a Chevy pickup truck slammed into a big rig before crashing into the center divider ā sending debris flying into traffic lanes. His vehicle became disabled, and he took off running across the freeway and out of sight.
Preliminary CHP reports indicated that following the crash, there were "two large barrels of marijuana dumped in traffic lanes."

However, Meyer said that there was not enough of the spilled pot left for officers to collect as evidence in the case, as it dissipated in the rain-slicked roadway.
The CHP San Gorgonio Pass Area is investigating the crash and still looking for the pickup truck driver.
