BIG BEAR, CA — Jackie, the famed Big Bear bald eagle, has laid her first egg of 2020. The event was captured on the Friends of Big Bear Valley's eagle's nest camera Wednesday night by alert viewers.
According to the National Eagle Center's website, the incubation period for bald eagles is about 35 days, so Jackie's first 2020 chick is expected to hatch around Valentine's Day.
Female bald eagles typically lay a clutch of two eggs over a period of three to six days, according the NEC, so a second egg is expected from Jackie.
