WaBa Grill Opens In Nearby Calimesa

The opening marks the rice bowl chain's 25th restaurant in Riverside County, with an eye on further Inland Empire expansion.

CALIMESA, CA — WaBa Grill, a Southern California-based chain, known for its rice bowls and flame-grilled proteins, opened its newest restaurant this week in Calimesa.

The eatery marks the 25th Riverside County location for the business, launched in 2006 and now operating nearly 200 shops in California and Arizona.

The Calimesa restaurant is at 1032 Cherry Valley Blvd., open Mondays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with dine-in, takeout curbside pick-up or third-party delivery.

WaBa Grill prides itself for "healthy eating on the go," with a menu offering such charbroiled proteins as chicken, rib-eye steak, salmon, shrimp, tofu and Plantspired™ steak, along with salads, grains, dumplings, jalapeno carrots and edamame kimchi, and dipping sauces.

The Calimesa WaBa is owned by franchisee Jerry Bajwa, who also owns and runs 19 WaBa Grills across Southern California and is planning expansion throughout the central desert region, the company said.
