In Wake Of Floyd Death, Banning Mayor Pro Tem Plans Town Hall

As protests continue following the Minneapolis in-custody death of George Floyd, the Banning mayor pro tem wants to hear from her community.

BANNING, CA — Banning Mayor Pro Tem Colleen Wallace wants to hear from residents and businesses about what actions they would like the city to take in the wake of the Minneapolis in-custody death of George Floyd, which has sparked protests around the globe.

Wallace is facilitating a town hall meeting Thursday, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at Roosevelt Williams Park, 1101 E. George Street (located just south of Hoffer Elementary School).

According to a social media post by the city, Wallace is encouraging people to "speak out about what is happening nationally ... . We want to hear from you." She is also encouraging the community to offer suggestions on what should be done locally.

The only request by Wallace is that attendees wear masks and bring their own chairs.
