Wind Gusts To 55 MPH Forecast In Coachella Valley, Pass Area

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — More high winds are headed for some areas of Riverside County Monday.

The National Weather Service has declared a wind advisory for the Coachella Valley and the San Gorgonio Pass near Banning from 4 p.m. to midnight.

Winds of 20 to 30 mph hour, with gusts to 55, were expected.

The NWS warned that the winds could blow around unsecured objects, tree limbs could be blown down, and a few power outages may result.

Areas of blowing sand and dust will also reduce visibility at times, the weather service said.

Drivers were urged to use extra caution, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle.

The forecast calls for cloudy skies and a chance of showers, with temperatures in the 60s and 70s.
