Wind Gusts To 60 MPH In Pass Area, NWS Issues Advisory

The National Weather Service issued the advisory starting at 2 p.m. Monday.

SAN GORGONIO PASS AREA, CA — A wind advisory will be in effect from 2 p.m. Monday until 6 a.m. Tuesday in the San Gorgonio Pass near Banning, the National Weather Service said.

West winds of 25 to 35 mph, with gusts to 50 mph, are expected — with isolated gusts to 60 mph in the most wind-prone areas, according to the NWS.

Winds were expected to strengthen again Wednesday.

Reduced visibility from blowing dust will make driving difficult, and unsecured objects could be blown around, the weather service said. Read more: Windblown Dust Advisory Issued For Pass Area

In addition, tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
