Woman Who Died After Falling From Mission Inn Rotunda Identified
The 79-year-old woman was pronounced dead at a local hospital less than 30 minutes after the July 28 fall, according to the coroner.
RIVERSIDE, CA — A woman who fell from the rotunda at the Mission Inn Hotel & Spa in Riverside last month has been identified by the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau.
Suzanne Bartel, 79, of Riverside was pronounced dead at a local hospital less than 30 minutes after the July 28 fall, according to the coroner.
Shortly after 11:30 a.m., city of Riverside firefighters were called to the historic hotel at 3649 Mission Inn Avenue and found Bartel in cardiac arrest. She was rushed to Riverside Community Hospital but did not survive.

It's not clear how far Bartel fell. The inn's rotunda features a circular staircase that ascends several stories.
According to the Riverside Police Department, which was investigating the incident, foul play is not suspected in Bartel's death.
