Did you all get your sewer rate increase notices in your bill? We did.
Here is what they are telling us.
Our sewer fees are only increasing $8.43 a month and our trash is only increasing $1 a month.
Then they tell us the sewer rates of several "surrounding areas" shows that our new "monthly" rates are reasonable. Wow! Look at what our neighbors in Adelanto are paying a month, $61.06! I'm not sure I would think of a "surrounding area" as a city more than 60 miles away.
Then they show us the new 2 month billing cycle total for a single family dwelling unit is only $101.36, That's not too bad...only 22% increase for sewer and refuse combined.
Funny they don't mention the sewer portion is going up more than 39%
Their justification? We need a $60 million waste water treatment plant. A plant of which many experts doubt the feasibility. Oh and they also left out that Urban Logics' principals (three of which are leading city departments) will receive more than $5,000,000.
Of course you all knew this was coming because it was so well advertised.
After all, who really cares about Proposition 218?
