• Update: Earthquake measuring 3.2 shakes area near Compton in Los Angeles County on Sept. 6 (ocregister.com) — Residents in Bell may have felt a mild 3.2 earthquake that struck just after midnight Sunday near Compton, about six miles north of Long Beach. The U.S. Geological Survey logged more than 600 weak-shaking reports from across the region, including Bell, and is encouraging anyone who noticed the tremor to submit a quick online felt report.
